Words, Words, Words was McCracken's directorial debut under the guidance of Melissa Lusher in the directing program of Otterbein Theatre and Dance. With a limited performance time of 15 minutes, McCracken decided to use one of the brilliant pieces from David Ives' collection of plays: All in the Timing. This production utilized animal work as well as extensive research into Shakespeare's Hamlet, as the production was based around the Infinite Monkey Theorem, an idea that states chimpanzees typing into infinity would sooner or later produce Hamlet. The play follows three chimpanzees, Swift, Milton, and Kafka, as they attempt to come up with a way to get out of the lab that the evil Dr. Rosenbaum has trapped them in as part of his experiment.Â
